I agree, this would be a great resource. I actually came to the site today looking for this very thing. Paraplanning is something I am trying to developmore in my role and this would be ideal!

Hi, for new paraplanner especially I would think a section on suitability letters would be very useful, covering things like how to set them out, what must be included from a compliance point of view. Maybe several different templates for different products could be included within the site.

Or maybe we could exchange suitability letters / reports (with the personal details taken out), so if a paraplanner wanted a SIPP letter for example they just make a request on the site and some kind paraplanner would email them a sample letter.

Hi Elaine,

Thanks for your constructive feedback. We are planning to introduce research and paraplanner tools sections and we initially planned to have these within the Resources section and possibly the technology category. These are designed to be reference documents and we would post an article in the 'New Starters' (or whatever it ends up being called) area highlighting its availability. We do have someone who is relatively new to the role who wishes to contribute/lead the new starters are and we will be posting some of the ideas for this soon.

It would be great if you could share the tools and websites etc which helped you as this is just the sort of contribution we are looking for. Feel free to post here, on the forum or drop us a line.

Hi, in response to your 'Education' section and in particular to new and aspiring paraplanners out there, i would have the sectioned named simply Research or Paraplanner Tools.

I remember when i first started, things like asset allocation was mind boggling. I had product knowledge but had no idea about fund sectors, asset allocation and benchmarking where. I have many tools which helpded me when i started. Would be good to share this with new paraplanners who have the ability to the job but by directing them to the correct websites, spreadsheets or just to answer the simplest of questions that they made be too afraid to ask, afterall, the definition of a 'Paraplanner' is a very wide one!
